Group Health Insurance Broker in Kansas City

Champion’s Pride Insurance Services is an independent benefits brokerage that helps Kansas City area employers with group health insurance and related coverage. Our founder and president, Tim Williams, is based in Blue Springs, on the Missouri side of the metro. We meet Kansas City employers by phone, Google Meet or Zoom, and in person in Missouri by arrangement.

Who you are dealing with

Two states, one metro

Which State’s Rules Apply to Your Group

The Kansas City metro straddles the state line, and small group rules are set by the state, not the city. Kansas counts a small employer partly by where its people work: the majority must be employed in Kansas (K.S.A. 40-2209d). If your staff are split across the line, tell us where they work and we start from there.

Employers on the Missouri side

Use our Missouri guide. It covers how Missouri defines a small employer, the 2027 filings and what you can change at renewal. Kansas City, Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit, Independence and Liberty are among the Missouri-side markets we serve.

Employers on the Kansas side

Use our Kansas guide. It covers how Kansas defines a small employer and an eligible employee, and the 2027 filings. Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa and Leawood are among the Kansas-side markets we serve.

Our office is in Columbia, Missouri, and we serve Kansas City employers by phone, Google Meet or Zoom. Where meeting in person makes sense, we can arrange it in Missouri.
